FAQ
Commonly Asked Questions From Homeowners
How much does it cost?
The short answer is that this is contingent upon your usage. This is such a difficult question to answer because two identical homes setting side by side with all the same appliances can have completely different usages based on the family’s utilization of those appliances.
This is why we always send out a trained inspector to give a true quote based on your personalized usage and go through your options with you.
What if the grid goes down? With battery backup and a whole home system, your home will be backed up. Even if you choose a limited backup critical loads setup, your essential loads (Refrigerator, lights, internet) will be backed up in a grid-down scenario.
What if I sell my house?
If you sell and decide to leave the system behind, you will gain from the increased home values that come with installing solar. However, a system can also be moved from one home to the next if you choose to do so.
How long do the panels last?
We use only tier one panels that carry at least a 25 year production guarantee. However, the panels are expected to last even longer than this.
How long does the battery last?
The batteries carry a ten year warranty but are expected to last longer even than this.
Does it have to go on my roof?
No, we can also install the system as a “ground mount” setup.
What if I need my roof replaced after I get solar?
This is no problem. We can always come in and remove the panels and replace them after the new roof has been installed. Also, if the roof is being replaced due to an issue that is being covered by your insurance company, they will usually also cover the cost of removal and replacement of the solar panels.
Does my homeowners insurance increase when I add solar?
Everyone’s policy is different but usually it does not.
Is the warranty transferable?
Yes, the warranties are attached to the product, not the owner of the products.
